Box Leather: Hermès' heirloom leather, and also the oldest leather in Hermès' history. Made from young calfskin, the leather is smooth, delicate, and has a glossy sheen. It has a warm, supple feel, is shinier than Swift leather, and is relatively lightweight.
Characteristics: Very smooth leather with very low grain, almost invisible. Smooth texture and relatively glossy.
Disadvantages: Not wear-resistant or scratch-resistant, easily scratched and difficult to repair; susceptible to water damage, may blister after rain.
